Malin Head to Mizen Head Cycle

August 14th – 20th 2021

Donegal

Hi, my name is John O’Hanlon, and I am fundraising for Paul Smith, who was recently  diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Paul is a member of my extended family. Although I am an amateur cyclist,I am currently undertaking an intensive training programme and plan to cycle from Malin Head in Donegal to Mizen Head in Cork, during the week starting August 14th through to August 20th, 2021 as part of my fundraising effort.

Update – Event Completed

Hi All, I wish to update donors to the Malin-Mizen fundraiser, for both Paul Smith and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. A total of €11,000 was raised as a result of the cycle. Two cheques were presented this afternoon, to Paul Smith, on the left and Clr Joe Malone (ambassador IMNDA) on the right, in Kilkenny (Paul’s home town). I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who made a donation, (both small and large) and those who helped with organising the cycle and those who helped make it happen, the quiet heroes. This will be my final update. It is my hope that the fundraiser will have helped, in a small way, of raising the awareness of Motor Neurone Disease within Ireland and its devastating effects on families. Beannacht leat agus Dhia dhaoibh!
